How does fire weather change wildfire behaviour?
Weather acts through wind, fuel drying, atmospheric stability and plume dynamics; its effect depends on the fuel and terrain the fire encounters.
Wind can increase forward spread, tilt flames and transport embers. Low humidity and large vapor pressure deficit can accelerate drying of fine dead fuels. Temperature affects fuel and atmospheric conditions but is not a standalone fire-behaviour predictor. Atmospheric stability and mixing influence plume structure and smoke dispersion.
