Shore Fire (2026): why the Shore Fire perimeter kept an evacuation warning at 91% containment

Riverside · Incident start: June 15, 2026

Southwest of Calimesa, a June bulletin reported 3,085 acres and 91% containment, yet retained a warning for the fire perimeter through the weekend. The wording identifies both the area affected and the limited scope of the notice.

What the incident record shows

Crews were still extinguishing interior hot spots, mopping up and repairing areas affected by suppression. Later bulletins recorded 95% and 98% containment and continued checks for hot embers. The warning and the favorable progress reports can therefore coexist in a historical timeline.

Reading the figures

The CAL FIRE incident summary updated June 25, 2026 lists 3,085 acres and 100% containment. These are historical reporting figures.

A warning for the perimeter should not be rewritten as an order for the whole city. Nor does the announcement of a pause in routine updates establish that operations paused with it.
